Extending visitor visa

Hi
I have a question. My parents have multi entree visitor visa( they have to exit from Canada every six months). I want to extend their visa because they are old and it is difficult for them to go out and return , so can I apply for extension when they are inside and usually for how long their stay will be extended, and how much I should pay for this extension ?

They need to get a new visa. You can only extend their stay in Canada.
