Extending Study Permit - Less than 30 days before expiry

Hello,

My wife left Canada with a valid study permit expiring on November 3, 2024, planning to return to Canada on August 31, 2024. We were going to submit the study permit extension this first week of September.

During her first year in Canada, she renewed her passport and extended her study permit. Unfortunately, that meant she unknowingly left Canada this August with an expired Visitor Visa and was unable to return.

Thanks to God, we have obtained a new Visitor Visa as of today.

Our concern now is getting back to Canada 30 days before the expiry of her study permit. We have exactly four weeks.

She will submit her passport to VFS Global in her home country on Monday, September 9th but VFS said they do not ship passports until Thursday. Then it will be sent by courier to a nearby country, and then back to her home country to be collected. This process is expected to take 2-6 weeks.

My questions are:

1. If she returns to Canada and applies to extend her study permit that same day, with less than 30 days before expiry, will she have a problem? (Will provide a letter of explanation)
2. Will she have any pushback from the Canada Border Services Agency, returning to Canada with 30 days or less before her permit expires? And if so, what can be provided to reduce pushback?
3. Does the 90 days grace period to restore status alleviate some of our concerns?
