I'm currently in the process of getting my permanent residency. I've just received my confirmation of permanent residence document today. However, my post-graduate work permit expires in less than a week.

I called the IRCC to book an appointment to become a PR but was told the next available date is in 5 weeks and since by PGWP wouldn't be valid then I would need to extend it before I can book the appointment.

I'm using the bridging open work permit to extend but having some issues.

For the question What is your current immigration status in Canada?
Need advise on what answer I should use. Worker or temporary resident permit holder.

I currently have a full time job in Canada

You can land at the border. No need to make any appointment for that. You can flagpole anytime. Once you land, you can change your SIN with your COPR at Service Canada.

Thanks for the reply!
I've just done reading to see what flagpoling is. My province doesn't have a border crossing so I won't have time to get that done before my current status expires so I would need to have implied status if I go do that

When does your PGWP expire? Because you will need valid status if you do landing at any visa office. So being implied status won't let you land.

You can always fly out of the country and come back to land at any international airport. That way you can use your COPR to enter Canada without any visa.
I forgot about that actually. The VISA expires on July 16th.

So here's the plan now. I fly to Barbados (visa-free country) on the 2nd and then come back to Canada using the COPR and the VISA.

Will I be able to get back in doing that?

If so would I need any other documents besides my passport and COPR

As long you have your COPR and Passport, you can enter into Canada. Other people would say to carry like employment pay stubs or bank statements as safety measures but CIC rarely ask for them. They usually just take your passport and COPR.
