Extending Closed Work Permit While Waiting for Permanent Residency

Hi all,

My friend is holding a closed work permit which will expire on April 2024 and I'm wondering if she can extend it. The only way I found on Google was changing to visitor visa due to her closed work permit. Also her husband is holding an open work permit, would he be able to extend his open work permit once she has changed to visitor visa?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

No, she doesn't. She came directly to Canada to work as a cook for a restaurant and is allowed to work for that employer only.
