Extending a 6 month visitor status (UK passport)

Hello I am looking for some help in understanding the process to extend my stay in Canada as a visitor. I am a UK Citizen and therefore I am from a Visa exempt country.

I came to Canada as a tourist and to visit close friends in December 2013. My 6 months will be up in the middle of June and I would like to extend my stay for a further 3 months.

I am filling in the IMM5078E form. The first part of the form asks me to enter my UCI. It then explains that The UCI can be found on your study or work permit under the section “Country of Citizenship”. However I do not have either a study or work permit as I am just here as a visitor from the UK? This form does indicate that you should be filling out if you are extending your stay as a visitor also, which is very confusing. There is no box to tick N/A or anything like that so I wanted to check with someone that I was filling in the right form.

Also it asks me whether I am looking to:
1. Extend my Temporary Resident Status
2. Restoration of Temporary Resident Status as a visitor
3. Initial Temporary Resident Permit or Extension of Temporary Resident permit

I am unclear which one I should be ticking so would be grateful for anyone's advice in this matter.

Many thanks in advance.

You should select #1.

#2 is for people who have overstayed their allowed visit and are trying to restore their status. (Not your situation.)

#3 is for people who are here on TRPs. TRPs are special permits that you have to apply for - typically if you are otherwise inadmissible to Canada. (Again, not your situation.)
