Hi,

My current Work Permit was extended in Canada by my employer. Am planning to visit India for vacation and would like to know the process of getting Visa stamped on passport by Canadian High Commission, New Delhi. My current visa expired on 12th Jun'2012 and currently working in Canada on extended WP.

Can anyone help me with the process.

Why don't you apply to Ottawa for a new TRV before you leave? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

Would obtaining TRV allow me to return to Canada without stamping visa from Canadian embassy in India.

A TRV, irrespective of where you obtain from, is the same. If you are in Canada, you can apply at Ottawa before you leave. Else you can apply at New Delhi from India. As PMM suggested, obtaining this from Ottawa will be the better option. I believe it takes close to a month, you can check the associated thread for latest timelines.

Irrespective of where you obtain the visa from, you can re-enter Canada as long as you can convince the border official of your admissibility (which in your case should be ok as you hold a WP. Would be better if you can carry employer letter for additional support when you return).

Whats the timelines for processing the TRV?. I was not able to locate the timeliness for same on CIC website.
