My fiance and I decided to extend my stay so we could get ready for our wedding in January. We sent the form off in October. I have about 6-8 months to stay here in Victoria. I know I'm suppose to wait to hear back from them but I'm a little worried because we sent the application off near the cut off time. We sent it 3 days before the 30 days was up.

I hope it got to the office in time. I guess if it didn't, I would be arrested, right? Heh.

Anyway, I do not have a return ticket home. I plan to stay here and live here with him. After we are married, I'd like for us to get some land up north, build our own house as we stay in a camper for a while. I would also like to work. It's really killing me not working!!! I know it's illegal to, though but still, driving me crazy.

My question is; If I am not working in the us (They let me in last time for three months even though I Had no job in the us. I told them I was taking care of my father who has congestive heart failure, and hardening of the liver so I had no time to work except to clean his house, and cook for him ets) They seemed sympathetic to me, too. The women guards before them didn't, they seemed very strict which is their job but the guy guards seemed more understanding I guess? Anyway, they let me in without having a job in the us but the other people didn't. They said I had no ties and to get a job and get my own apartment or a room mate and a lease before I come back in, but about a few weeks later , I came back in no problem but we finally told them we're getting married. Before, I was just his girlfriend at the time. Maybe they understand how serious this is, and how important it is that we're together here.

It's been such a rough road for the both of us, with this hanging over our heads. We don't know if I'll be accepted or not, they may count the time I am here waiting as my extension, right? I'm very worried. I apologize for the long post. Has anyone ever gone through this before? I really love my dad but I don't want to take care of him. I spent over 10 years doing it. I do not want to go back the us, my life is here, with my soul mate! Any information is very helpful! Thank you.

You won't be arrested.....
You are US citizen... You should very proud ....No need to worry
I want to share my experience....last time when I and my wife wanted to buy a car , we visited 1 Korean auto dealer...The Sales Manager just looked down to us and very proud to say " Hey , I am American !!!"
OMG....we just asked about the price because we wanted to pay cash and we didn't ask anything about his nationality....He must explain about the price , insurance , specifications of the car etc and NOT his USA citizen....
Finally, we bought a Japanese car with The owner of auto dealers who are really really down to earth....He has at least 4 big auto dealers..
The first time we didn't know that he is the Big Boss until his salesman told us.....We are really shocked....

That's why I wonder why you are so worry....You just return to USA and back again to Canada...it is so easy for you because you are USA citizen
