Me and my boyfriend are currently in Canada on a visitor visa.
We booked a round trip from January 11th - August 15th, ie 6 months and 5 weeks. Before booking the trip we emailed with the embassy who said it would be possible to extend our visitor visa.
We are about to submit an inquiry to extend our visitor visa. We can show proof that we are going back home to Sweden on August 15th by attaching:
- Papers of registration to university starting in September.
- Lease for our subletted apartment back home.
- Proof of assets.
- Email correspondence with the embassy proving that this was our initial plan.
Does anybody have any experience with extension of visitor visas. Is it enough to just wanting to explore Canada some more and being able to show that you are for a fact going home and have enough savings to be able to make it until then?
