Hi,

My mom is here on a regular visitor Visa. She has been free for 3.5 months. My wife is pregnant and we want to extend her stay here beyond the 6 months limit. My father who still works as a consultant part time will not require to stay here for more than 6 months at a time.
They have frequently visited for the past 4 years and never over stayed.

I know there are 2 options to either apply for sorry Visa or simply extend stay, correct?

1. Generally speaking what are my options?
2. Can I apply for super Visa while she is still in the country? If she gets it, will she have to re-enter?
3. Which application process has best chance/less complication for her to stay for sometime to help with my wife pregnancy and birth?

All help is appreciated.

Hi

Supervisa has nothing to do with it. She needs to apply to extend her stay as a visitor. It is far too early to apply. She should not mention the pregnancy, as IRCC may think she is staying to help care for the child.

Just to add canuck_in_uk's reply:
She cannot apply for a super visa now. She needs to apply for it to a visa office outside Canada, preferably her home country

Thank you so much!

Just to be clear, when is it a good time to apply for the extension? Any advice when I do apply for it from your experience!

Within a month of her current status expiring. Just follow the guide.
