Extend My Stay or Leave and Re-Enter?

Hi, my husband is planning on sponsoring me outland. We are hoping to begin our paperwork in February as that's when the FBI says I will be receiving my police check. My visitor's visa expires in March. Would you advise me to stay and try and apply to extend my visa? Or leave when my visa expires and try to come back for another 6 months?

if you are a us citizen, you do not have a "visa" since you are visa exempt. what you have is probably a visitor's record or you are just extending your stay as a visitor - not extending your visa.

if you don't have any reason to go home, then just stay and apply to extend your status online. it is easier and less of a chance of running into trouble at the border.
