Extend Closed Work Permit

Hello,

I have a closed work permit (with LMIA) and currently live in Canada. The work permit is valid for a 3-year period. I would like to extend my work permit. Do I need a new LMIA to extend my work permit? How can I extend it without obtaining a new LMIA? Additionally, is it possible for me to apply for an open work permit instead? If so, what is the process, and for how long can the open work permit be extended?

New LMIA is needed. You do not qualify for an open work permit unless you meet one of the criteria to apply for one.

LMIA is required for the extension of the closed work permit. Open work permit is available if you are eligible.
