Extend Bridging OWP

Hi everyone,

I have filed my CEC PR application in June 2014 and have not heard of anything back from CIC until now. My BOWP will expired in August 2015 and I am wondering if I can extend my BOWP since I have applied once last year?

How many of you have done that? and was it a success or not?

I started to get very nervous as the timeline is pressing. Anyone can help? Greatly appreciated!!!

Don't worry.. as of my understanding u can apply more that 1 bowp until u get some decission on PR application.. I saw in this forum that many people got 2nd BOWP .

I'm in the same boat, if i don't hear anything from CIC i'm gonna apply for a second bowp in May.

but, according to the processing time, you should get your PR, by June, 2015. 12 months? is that right? take it easy. should be fine

I am in the same boat too. Although as per CIC timelines, most of us should not need to worry about having the extend a BOWP, CIC can be predictably unpredictable about delaying processing.

Below link makes me think that we are eligible, but sadly, everything rests on how VOs interpret it.

Don't worry. You can apply for the second BOWP. I got my second BOWP in January.

SECOND BRIDGING WP

Hello folks

I have applied for PR under CEC in JULY 2014 (Awaiting MR) and currently am working in Canada on a valid Bridging open work permit. The BOWP is expiring on OCT 02 2015 and I am wondering about the right time to file for the second BOWP? When I applied BOWP for the first time, I made a paper application and now is it possible to make an on-line application or do I have to make only a paper application? If both the options work, which one is the best option to go with? Also do let me know what documents are exactly need to file the on-line application? Any response is highly appreciated and thanks for all your help

you cannot apply for 2nd BOWP until your current one is due to expire in 4 months.

thank you @ waqas11 and springchicken! can I apply it on-line and what documents are needed? If I apply it in mid April (WP expiry - 2 Oct 2015), I will have 4 months remaining on my work permit by the time VO touch's my application (assuming processing time of approx 45 days)...is that correct?

Does applying for BOWP require LMIA for online application or any job offer letter??

which is the quickiest way to go ahead for online or paper.?

Online is fast n you don't need LMIA or job offer, you just need to be in canada, your WP expiry should be <120 days ( 4 months) & you should have receive AOR.
