Hello Friends,

I myself & wife are planning to apply for the Express Entry Program and my wife is considered as the principal applicant, also she got her ECA cleared from WES with Summary Certified as "Master Degree" and has got a IELTS score of 7.5 (above 6 in all the bands). I am also a Master Degree Holder and has got a Overall IELTS score of 6.5, but I have not done my ECA, we are processing our application through a immigration consultant. After evaluation of our case the consultant said that, we have a total of 451 points, would it be possible to get an ITA in the upcoming express entry draws. If in case the score required in the latest draw is above 451, what should we do to get selected in the next draws, should we wait or we should again register with a new EE application. Kindly advise.

Thanking you

While nobody can predict what will be the next cutoff and when the next draw will happen.

But with 451 you should apply immediately to EE. Also its advisable to get ECA done your qualifications as well, as it will add to the score.

There is no harm in trying to increase your IELTS as well if you want to further improve your score, but should be fine for now (unless the score doesn't turn south at all)

My sincere suggestion is that you create your profile yourself. It is easy and straight forward process. You have all the documents required to create one. Having said that, as your wife has already completed her eca and her ielts scores are better than yours, she is best suited as PA. 451 is a good score and you can expect an ITA in next couple of draws. Meanwhile, you can get your ECA done and retake ielts. If your score increases and is better than your wife's, create a new profile with you as PA.

You will get all information on this forum and if you handle your case all by yourself, you are potentially saving lot of money which you have to pay to an agency and also you have full control over your profile.

Hi providence welcome to the Forum first of all. You will.find everyone here to be helpful and will give you honest advice without judgment.

To your questions; first of all there is no guarantee that anyone will get selected. The score in the draw is a function of the number of people that want to bring in (ie higher score/fewer people), (lower score/more people). The trend seems like they have settled on a base score of 450 (just my thoughts). To improve your score you canax out you and your wife's language scores, get an ECA for your Masters degree, or dare I say it have you and your wife take the French tests (don't know your background).

Also just my opinion, you have invaluable information on this forum. No need to use immigration agent.
