I’m planning to apply for Express Entry to Canada with my 8-year-old son and elderly parents. I currently live in Armenia and only have an Armenian travel document (not a regular passport). Is this acceptable for Express Entry, or will it be a problem during the application or visa process? I’d really appreciate guidance from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has expertise on this.

The Armenian travel document should be accepted.

As said above, your parents cannot be incldued in the application and you will need to be prepared to move to Canada withouth them.

If parents wanting/needing to live with you is a high priority, Canada may not be a good option. Parent sponsorship is not guaranteed and especially not within a certain timeframe. You will need to meet a certain income requirement for typically at least 3 years just to qualify but then will need to compete with hundreds of thousands of other people also wanting to sponsor their parents while there are very limited spots available. The program is currently closed and we have no idea what the program will look like in the future but there is a good chance that those who have been waiting the longest will somehow be given priority because the interest far exceeds the amount of spots. Realistically you needing to be making plans for your parents to live in Armenia longterm.
