Express Entry Targeted draws - NOC selection?

Is the Targeted draw selection based on the 'MAIN OCCUPATION' listed on an EE profile? Am curious, as many people may have previous experience in one of the Targeted NOC's but have listed current job NOC as 'main occupation' - which is not one of the 'targeted NOC's, - and then they don't get selected. In which case they should put the Targeted NOC in main occupation instead of current role - as long as they have the required 6 months previous experience? Can anyone verify?.

It is the primary NOC. The issue with changing secondary NOC to primary NOC is you need one year continuous full time employment in the NOC to be eligible for EE.
