Dear Users,

This is my first post and pardon me if similar post exists earlier.

I would like to let fellow members know about our case so that they are aware and more careful while submitting their documents post ITA.

We are family of 3 from India and currently I am in US on H1B visa and we had received the ITA and submitted our documents on 5-July-2018 and received eAOR on same day.

On 21-July-2018 we received an email notification that their is update in my application and when I logged to my account I was shocked and disappointed to find a letter with below text:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has reviewed your application for permanent residence. We have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of a complete application as described in sections 10 and 12.01 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.
Your application is rejected for being incomplete.

Specifically, your application does not include the following elements: - Copy of birth certificate for dependant(s) – Birth Certificate provided for child does not list name of child or name of parents in English or French.
An English or French translation was not provided.
Note:
A full review of your application was not performed. There may be other elements, not identified above, which may also be missing or incomplete.

Our son was born in India (Punjab) and the birth certificate had both english and Punjabi mixed but the names were only printed in Punjabi. I know it is our fault but we had submitted same birth certificate in US for his admission in school and it worked so it did not struck our mind that this small mistake can cause straight rejection.

Luckily we had sufficient marks and I created a new profile which got picked on next draw and we have submitted our documents again along with translated birth certificate copy for my son. I am keeping my fingers crossed this time.

My intention of the post is to warn other members to fully double check their documents before submission to avoid the pain faced by us

Regards,
Inderjot Singh
