Hello All,

THANK YOU NOTE:
Its finally time, for me to get seriously start collecting info about this process. I have read through a lot of posts and thank to you guys learnt a lot about the procedures.

ACTUAL QUESTION :) :
So I recently completed 1 Year of full-time work under the NOC - 2172 which was under contract and my contract has been extended for another year. I am also becoming permanent within the a month. I received my 3 Year PGWP around November 2015. I was wondering if it is absolutely required for me to ask my company to do an LMIA for my position. When I filled in my Comprehensive Ranking Tool, I had received a total score of 474 but it had no questions regarding the LMIA.

While filling in the Express Entry Profile, The question that stumped me was:
Which of these categories does xxx job fall under?
A.)No work permit required
B.)Work permit required, No LMIA required
C.)Work permit required, LMIA required

When I check the requirements, I do not think I meet the LMIA exemption requirements as I do not meet the last line:

has a valid, employer-specific temporary work permit that is exempt from an LMIA under R204 (a) or (c), or R205. This includes:
international agreements
federal-provincial agreements, or
significant benefit to Canada candidates including mobilite francophone

But it also say:

"Applicants who do not need an offer of arranged employment to meet program requirements are not obligated to obtain one."

Could someone let me know if I need an LMIA?

Thank you for your help!

No, an LMIA is not required. However, you cannot claim to have a valid job offer (and gain the extra points) without one. So if you answer "no" to the job offer question, you won't be stumped by questions that are not intended for you.
