Hi,
I have one question. I have finished 1 year AEC diploma from private post secondary school in Montreal, Quebec. While filling study details in express entry profile, I have seen below question. I am not sure whether my college operates under the same rules as public schools. When I select "No", I am getting 0 points for my Canadian 1 year education. I kindly request you to please suggest me whether should I select "Yes" or "No". My college has DLI number.

Was this degree, diploma or certificate:

1. from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
2. from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
3. a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
4. a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)

What is the school? Knowing your college has a DLI number is not enough to answer the question. For private schools, the answer is often "no" because most do not operate under the same rules as public schools.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. My college is Montreal College Of Information technology. Is there any list where I can see which college operates under the same rules as public schools? So my 1 year study has no value in Canada?
