Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of which NOC classification would provide the best chances on landing on PR via Express Entry: Engineering manager (0211) or Mechanical engineer (2132).

I've read some threads from 2013 that one can apply for both codes in a single application. Is this still possible this year?

Regards,

Hi Guys,

Sorry for posting it in your thread but I have a peculiar scenario in front of me which is why I am here. I have 1 year of work experience now in Canada as a Junior Project Manager in a firm which primarily is in Industrial emissions monitoring. So we supply emission monitoring analyzers to industries. My job responsibilities are as follows:

- To meet clients and ensure requirements and performance needs of the project are met within schedule and budget.
- Review project budget based on original cost estimate sheets and ensure project procurement phase is completed
- Allocate resources to meet project schedule milestones and deadlines
- To identify, develop and maintain company's engineering service capability for projects.
- Ensure engineering specifications are made and submitted for customer review according to schedule
- Review and ensure engineering drawings are 100% accurate for on-site installation
- Review the proposals for engineering and technical requirements
- Review and submit documentation including QA Manuals to the scheduled timeline
- Demonstrate ownership of Engineering and Project Management Functions in all activities
- Review and advise ISO Procedures and process changes as necessary

I had to make sure the client site had all the electrical requirements available for the analyzers to help ease the installation and commissioning process. Now the job responsibilities closely match with the NOC code 0211, but under the employment requirements it says bachelor's degree of engineering is required (which I have) and extensive engineering experience is required (I don't have). This is my first job here and I am not claiming any points for my previous work experience which was barely 10 months. I have emailed the hrsdc email address but haven't heard back from them and it's been 2 weeks. Could someone please help and guide me for the appropriate NOC code.

Thanks in advance!

Landing or Getting a job is not dependent on NOC.
0211 is NOC 0 and 2132 is NOC A, Both are considered same for program eligibility.

One is not better than the other; both are eligible. You choose the NOC based on which job duties and responsibilities best match yours, as confirmed in your letter of reference from your employer.

If you have different jobs, you can use more than one NOC. However, you still have to chose a "main" occupation and meet the eligibility (at least 1 year of full-time experience, or the equivalent in part-time work) to be eligible overall. The exception is if the experience is in Canada - you can combine all skilled NOCs to meet the 1 year requirement.

Even I have same doubt regarding NOC .I has done degree in mechanical engineering. My profile is in handling service for the entire state for home appliances. My profile is of service executive.Job roles are:
1. Monitoring and improving ISP performance ,demonstration and installation
2. developing and participating in strategic planning sessions for spare parts and accessories business.
3. Interacting with customer support sales, marketing and senior management to continually evaluate and improve the product support solution channel and strategy to build lucrative business opportunities.
I look forward for 0211. but I am not specific if it is relevant or not.
Please if anyone could help me resolve my problem. Thanks in advance
