Express entry - Martial Status complications

Hi Guys,

I need your advise, on my current family situation.

I filled a divorce case, as my wife left me with a days baby. Its been 2 years now and I don't know my Kids name atleast. I have no contact with her any more. I filled my marital status as 'Separated' in the express entry PR form. However, I have mentioned that I have a KID who will not accompany me to Canada but still I am being asked the Kids Name, passport details in the application without which it looks like I can't submit the application! Can someone suggest the way forward ?

Thanks,

Sorry to hear about your situation, its very hard and complicated as cic requires not only your child's details, but also you must submit his/her medical exam. This applies even when you do not have custody. You have 2 options, either find her and try to get her to give you your childs details and get her to do the medicals. Or, try your luck and apply but you will have to do a lot of explanation, and you need to back it up with evidence. If they agree to process your case, they will ask you to sign a declaration that you will never be able to sponsor your child in the future no matter what.
Back to the divorce issue, how long do you think it will take to get the divorce certificate? As selecting (separated) is not good. You willl be asked to sumbit your wife's details and medicals and police clearance. You are only exempted from including her if you are legally separated ( by a court order) or legally divorced. If you think that the application is going well, then select divorced and attach proof that you did apply and when are you expecting to get it done. Remember you have 90 days to submit your application after receiving your invitation to apply through express entry, which is usually enough time to get divorce as long as thats the case in your country.
Good luck
