Express Entry Late Family Addition

Hello,
I went through Express Entry with my daughter (8 years old) and new husband in 2014. We received an ITA and applied for PR, which was approved. My husband has been in Canada since then, but I am only travelling now. However, my daughter is unable to come as her biological father refused to give me sole custody when we initially applied for PR. Now he has agreed to do it, and so I have all the documents stating that he gives me permission to travel with our daughter, but our permanent residency status does not include my daughter! She was listed as a family member in my original application, and had her medical checks. What are my options? Can I add her on as a late addition to my permanent residency visa? Or must I wait to sponsor her from Canada as my child? Help!

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I assume that means that your PR application has already been finalized and closed, right?

My guess would be that you can no longer simply have your child be processed using the same application as that one has been finalized, so I would expect that you have to go the sponsorship route now.

I hope somebody else was in a similar situation and might provide some help for the steps you have to start with.

If your husband, the principal applicant, has already landed, I believe there is no scope to add a family member to the application any more.

Because she had the medicals done, and (apparently) she was processed as "non-accompanying," you can sponsor her once you become a PR (since you haven't "traveled" yet, I assume that means you haven't "landed" yet. As soon as you land, you become a PR).

If you want her to accompany you in the meantime, you will have to apply for a visitors permit for her.
