Hi,

I am planning to apply for Express entry. My CRS score with me as the primary applicant is 414 and the score goes up to 468 with my wife as the primary applicant.

I want to know what are the implications of making my wife as the primary applicant.
1. Will the spouse receive PR along with the primary applicant of selected.?
2. Can I travel to Canada while my wife is outside of Canada ?
3. Can I work in Canada while my wife is outside of Canada ?
4. Do I need a separate work permit even after selected through Express entry ?

Please help me clear these queries.

Regards,
Kumar

I think and feel that you have a far better chance with yr wife as the principal application, in fact, I can more or less say that you will get your ITA if you stick to that option.

1. Will the spouse receive PR along with the primary applicant of selected.? ----Yes if it is a combined application
2. Can I travel to Canada while my wife is outside of Canada? ---- As long as you have completed the PR application, you can go but if I understand it correctly, your first landing has to be with the principal applicant
3. Can I work in Canada while my wife is outside of Canada? ---- Yes you will be holding PR
4. Do I need a separate work permit even after selected through Express entry? ----No, you do not need a separate work permit as you will process PR
