Hi all,

I'm Kris and based in the UK and have just received my 2 copies of my COPR.

Due to having completed this final stage I would like to help anyone in the Express entry process and answer questions that could help you to avoid issues or rejection

Any questions feel free to ask

Hi Kris,
That is very kind of you to offer and CONGRATULATIONS on getting your COPR; maybe you can help with my question. I'm trying to figure out if investments such as stocks and unit trusts can be used as POF. I've asked the question a few times on other threads but haven't received a definitive answer :)

Several members of the forum keep stating that investments such as these that are tied to the market can't be used for POF because they're too 'volatile' but I haven't actually seen any written evidence from CIC to support this statement; all the POF information I find says that 'cashable investments' are valid and doesn't say anything about 'volatility' of the investment being an issue.

Did you use any investments such as stocks, bonds, or unit trusts for your Proof of Funds? If not, and you agree with what the members of the forum are saying about 'volatile' investments being inadmissable, would you be able to point me to where CIC specifies this?

For POF I literally put £1500 per month from my salary into a savings account.
This is the ideal of what CIC want to see as there is no volatility at all and it is safe money that they can judge I actually own.

Stocks and bonds are a grey area mainly because they can go up or down and are at that point not a set amount.

I would attempt to stick to savings if you can.

My application took just under 3 months to get my copr and I think the reason for this is I gave them everything they wanted in the clearest possible method.
