Express Entry - connection with Australian immigration system

Dear all,

I have submitted my EE profile and waiting for the upcoming draws.
However, since I do not want to put all eggs in one basket, I was thinking to apply
also to Australian immigration programme, which is, in a way, similar to Canadian EE.

Do you maybe have some information, if Canada and Australia are connected,
in the sense that they can check information I have sent to the other country?

Are these two countries in any way connected regarding immigration?

They are connected in terms of background checks and whether you've been refused entry. But not when it comes to applying for PR. Canada won't care if you apply to Aussie at the same time as Canada.
