Express Entry - CEC - PR application

Hi All,

I have applied my PR on June 18, 2018 under Express entry programm in CEC. It was one year till yesterday and I got an update on file. It is now saying-- "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." but before untill yesterday it was saying "Your application is in progress.We will send you a message if we need more information." and they also requested me to get RCMP certified crimial check and asking me to upload in 30 days starting from yesterday.

I have a question in this regard -- I already submitted my RCMP back in 2018 which I did on 25th May, 2018. so why are they asking it again -- Is it just the RCMP certificate that Is submitted might be expired? so what is the validity ? Also on the side is it a good sign from CIC asking me for this Criminal check which means my file is moving? Did any one get this request

Yes it is a good sign that they asked again. One of my closest friend had this issue. It took a long time for his file as well and he was asked to do background check again.
He got an interview request to the IRCC office where only his identity document(passport) and permit in canada was verified and he was given COPR at the spot. No landing required
Your file is moving ahead for sure and good news is on its way. All the best
