express entry and study permit

Hi all,

I want to apply for express entry but me and my wife have already submitted an application for study and work permit extension two months ago. what would you guys recommend in this case:

1- wait until the extension decision is made then submit my application or
2- I can submit my application right now?

what would happen in each case?
