Express Entry and Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP): which comes 1st

I am looking to apply for immigration to Canada via either the Express Entry or SINP and am having some difficulties understanding the process. Do I have to apply for the Express Entry first before applying to SINP or are they separate programs and I can immediately apply to the SINP without going through the Express Entry program?

Also, has anybody had any difficulties in getting their agent to calculate the points before applying the visas? I would have thought that it is part of their service to check the points to see which program has the best chance for us but my agent keeps wanting me to apply for the Express Entry first before considering the SINP, hence my question.

You have two options to apply for SINP, One through express entry and other will be only a PNP application for SINP, which is known as occupation in demand stream.

all SINP programs, just like other provinces, have a provincial part and a federal part.

SINP Student stream here.. it took me a month to get a job approval letter, a month to get nominated provincially, then I sent a paper application to federal and then it takes up to two years..
SINP also have an express entry stream.. if its eligible to you, it takes about 3 months to get the provincial nominee certificate, then apply for the federal part of the program, which is another approx. 6 months.

Your agent should have the knowledge of what programs are out there... OID, or whatever.. for your own knowledge you could also see them on the sinp website.

Your agent should be able to calculate the points for you, unless they think some questions was too personal. otherwise, search for CSR Ranking Tool on google you will find the official CIC one for the purpose of people in the pool that might have their situation changed... or for your self assessment.

If you have a good score and apply for EE without a PNP, it will be faster. PNPs have a long processing time which will delay your PR. Depends on your patience level and urgency to get to Canada.
