Currently on a 2 year IEC working as an operator driving the zamboni.

I work 40 hours a week and train as an amateur athlete.
This is the criteria for and athlete.

Athletes perform some or all of the following duties:
  • Train under the direction of a coach or trainer to qualify for competition
  • Attend scheduled practice and training sessions
  • Participate in local, regional, provincial, national or international competitions and sporting events
  • Assess performance after an event to identify strengths and weaknesses.
Employment requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in a particular sport, or type of game, is required.
  • Extensive training under the supervision of a coach is required.
  • Certification with a particular sports federation may be required.
  • A background combining athletic training and college or university studies is strongly recommended.

I check each one of these.
However I do not compete for Canada but for another country and I do not get paid to compete which is why I work driving the ice zamboni.

Am I able to apply for express entry with the NOC code 5215 (Class B)

There is no information stating I have to compete for Canada or that the employer needs to be a professional team/organisation.

Can anyone shed light on this scenario?

Thanks

The short answer is no.

If you are not paid to complete, then you cannot count this as work experience. You need to be paid.

Well that is a shame, for my federation to allow you get paid you have to retire from competitive skating and go into shows.

Thank you

Hi I just have a question, does the education matter or its just about having 35 points for athletic coach/trainer
