Hello,
I am student in Canada, studying in 4th year (in 5-year program). My program requires me to take 4 semesters of work in the field (coop). I found that to qualify for express entry, I need at least 1 year of uninterrupted work experience. It is the only requirement I have trouble satisfying.
I decided to take coop in the winter with 1 employer(right now), and I already found 2nd job for 8 months until December. Unfortunately my first job started in the middle of January, and there is 1 week gap between the jobs. In total, it will be a little bit more than 11 months of Canadian experience in a single run. I am allowed to work only during my scheduled coop semesters or breaks.
Will it be enough to apply through express entry? If not, what are my options not to lose another year? I think I will need to return to full time studies starting next winter according to my program schedule. I can still work next summer, since it will be scheduled break.
Will moving my classes to the summer (in order to prolong uninterrupted work experience for required 12 months) make me ineligible for postgraduation work permit?
What would you recommend in my case? Right now my estimate of express entry score is 352-372 when I select highest degree as highschool. Immediately after graduation it will be around 500, assuming I satisfy 1 year of uninterrupted work experience.
I would like to receive permanent residence as soon as possible so that I do not have to pay international tuition fees for my last year in university.
