Hello, I am a landed permanent resident of Canada and in the process of exporting my vehicle from Pennsylvania to Vancouver, Canada, via the border crossing in Blaine, Washington. I contacted the US Customs in Blaine and they provided a worksheet that needs to be filled in and emailed to them 3 days prior to exporting the vehicle, along with the Title and Bill of Sale for the vehicle. Below is a screen capture of the blank worksheet I was provided.

Unfortunately, it is proving difficult to get a hold of the customs office to get a few explanations about the worksheet, so I thought I would try here. Keep in mind, I will be having my vehicle driven from Pennsylvania to Washington, where I will pick it up in Washington and drive it across the border myself. The following items on the worksheet I need a bit of an explanation on:

Carrier: Is this my name? Do I leave it blank?
Vessel: Do I leave it blank?
BOL/AWB/Booking #: I have no idea what this is.
Export date: I am unsure the exact day I will be driving it across the border as it depends on when the shipping company arrives with my vehicle in Washington
Vehicle location: I originate from Pennsylvania. Should I put PA here? Or should I put Washington since I will cross the border there?
ID#: Again I am not sure what this is. Perhaps my passport id?
Type & Issuer: No idea here either
Ultimate Consignee: Do I check the shipper box if I am the one driving it across the border, and is this section my name and information?
Designated Agent/Broker: Must I fill out this section if I am driving it myself. If so, with what information?

I know this was a lot of questions. If any of you have any experience with a worksheet like this and or crossing the border, I would appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

If you inbox me your email address, I'll send you the entire AES user guide. It's the USA side of exporting a car. It'll help break down the lingo for you.

BTW, how do you like it up there? We're moving from NJ to the Vancouver area this summer, we hope.

Thank you! I will send you my email address in a pm.

It is a beautiful area. If you move in the summer, you will fall in love with it I am sure, every day is perfect and picturesque. If you move there in the late fall/winter you might be a little depressed if you are someone that needs the sun. Gas and pretty much all other goods are expensive, and housing is ridiculously expensive, but if that isn't a concern, it really is a beautiful place to live. And while you won't see the sun in the winter, you also wont see much snow either, as it doesn't get too cold. But some of the best skiing in the world is only a couple hours away. It lacks some of the conveniences of New Jersey, more expensive goods, slower internet, slower shipping, that sort of thing, but if you love beautiful surroundings near a mid size well developed city, it will more than make up for it. Job market seems relatively good at least for now (housing market seems kind of dangerously high so hopefully nothing pops). Although, it doesn't have the same quantity of corporate headquarters that Toronto has. The people are very nice, if maybe a little snooty(sometimes they are a little too proud of Vancouver). Overall, it is a very nice place. Pennsylvania and the northeast will always be home to me though.
