Explanation of Gap between old and new passport for citizenship

Hello All,

I am planning to apply for citizenship but I have a gap of 1 year and 5 months between my old and new passport. I didn't renew it because I had no plans to leave the country. I would really appreciate if someone could guide me on what to write in the explanation letter from their own experience.
