Expiring Work Permits - Can we leave the country and come back?

My situation is the same as all the other international students/CEC applicants that graduated from Canada and are now disadvantaged because of the LMIA.

My PGWP is expiring in July. I have not received an ITA and my score is around the 450 mark. If I do not get an ITA by July (which chances may be high), will I be able to leave the country and wait for a response in my passport country until my EE profile is ineligible after one year? Basically I'm asking if I can leave Canada once my work permit expires, wait until i get an ITA, apply for the PR and then finally come back with an approved PR?

It's taking a huge risk, but what are the other options if I don't get an ITA?

You will have to leave Canada when your WP expires.

You can have a EE profile in Canada or outside Canada. You don't even need to cancel your current EE profile, just change your country of residence. When it expires after 1 year, just create the same thing again.

CEC doesn't care if you are inside or outside Canada, as long as you have 1 year Canadian Work experiences.

Although, being out of Canada, chances employers hires you and do LMIA for you are slim. (Consider PNPs if you can)

Thanks! I have an application in for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee program (AINP), but that will take 2 year apparently. also if I leave my job i'm not sure how that will affect the AINP.

You can stay in the country if you apply for a change in status - I think the recommendation is to do this at least 30 days prior to the expiration of your WP.
