Expiring Visitor Visa

My husband is Canadian and we are living in Canada. My visitor visa expires on the end of February 2016.
My husband applied to sponsor me and I for my work permit (paper application)
The application was received in Mississauga on 1st February, 2016.
Checked online and it says Permanent Residence takes 26 months and Work Permit 3 months.
Do I still need to apply for a visitor extension or wait for a reply on the work permit?
Confused and we do not want to break the law.

If the WP application was received BEFORE the expiry date of your visitor status, then you are ok.

If the WP application was received AFTER the expiry date of the visitor status, then you MUST apply for restoration.
