EXPIRED WORK PERMIT BUT ON SPONSORSHIP-SPOUSE

HI EVERYBODY!

I am currently in puzzled right now on what will I do next. My situation is that I am married to a Canadian citizen and I have passed a Spousal Sponsorship and OWP forms last Sept. 4,2014. We were advised by the CIC to pass the 2 document forms together. Now my problem is, my work permit is gonna expire tomorrow Sept. 25, 2014. I really don't know what to do, if i should go back home or wait here? I am afraid that I might be overstaying here in Canada. Will staying here affect my application? what should I do.

Hi

I'm going to assume that you applied inland and not outland. If so, the OWP app that you submitted with the PR app will give you Implied Status, which allows you to stay in Canada legally. You will not be overstaying and you do not have to leave Canada.

On what basis did you obtain your current work permit?
