EXPIRED WORK PERMIT AND TRV ASKED BY CIC TO APPLY RESTORATION

hi guys i just want to ask if you can help me regarding my status, I got refusal from applying an open permit using my wife WP which will end in July mine expired already April. i was asked to apply for restoration, what form should I use? I dont have LMIA or work permit anymore, Can i apply restoration of status from WORKER TO VISITOR?

Yes - you can apply to restore your status and change it to visitor.

my wife has her work permit and nominated by province but she will expire on july too. should i apply now using her wp or wait til she has new one?

You cannot use your wife's work permit as a basis of applying for an open permit. Her permit would need to be valid for at least six months and that is not the case. You need to apply to have your status changed to visitor. Once your wife receives her nomination you can apply for work permits.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=1030&t=17
