Expired visa!

Hi guys..im confused about my situation.i applied for my PRcard june last yr along with my visa form and owp.
I just realized right now that i forgot to include my original passport for my visa application.my owp will going to expired on Sept 2013.i just renew my passport last week,so i dnt have my passport right now.im still working on my employer.i have some questions,i hope you guys could help me out..
1.Should i renew my visa when ever i received my passport or should i just waste for my PR card first?
2.im planning to go home nxt yr,is it ok if i take my vacation without my PR card & expired visa?

I have a valid visa til jan 30,2013,but im having my vacation this nov 30-jan 9,2013..do i need a re entry visa to come back here in canada,my open permit will expire 2014 and my passport will expire this coming april 2013,pls i do need your opinion..thnx

@ gnewstuff..actually im still inside canada..im just wondering abt my visa which already expired for 1 year,i saw a comment here abt expired visa that visa only need for re entry.am i correct?
i think ill just wait for my passport (wch i renew 2 weeks ago) then i will renew my OWP and as well as my visa so i could take my vacation nxt yr...

hello my understanding is that you have a valid permit but expired visa. Right? If you have a valid permit, you can apply for a visa at any time. It does not matter if the visa is already expired. To maintain your legal stay in Canada, you need a valid permit. Visa is only for re-entry.

Glad I could help. It is always good to have a valid visa for re-entry in case of emergency. So try to apply for one whenever possible.

If you are on a Work or Study ermit you can renew your TRV at CPP-Ottawa. If you are a visitor, you can extend your stay but if you exited Canada and wants to come back, you need to apply for a new TRV at a visa office/embassy/chc outside Canada.
