Expired Status and PR related work permit

Hello everyone,

I have a question I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

I am legally in Canada with a Visitor Record. My work permit expired 95 days ago. while waiting for an Express Entry invitation.

In the case I get an invitation to apply to PR, can I apply for a work permit while the PR application is processed?

No. You are not eligible for a bridging open work permit if that is what you are asking. You need to be able to restore your status to worker within 90 days of expiry and you are beyond that. So you wait until you are PR.

If through a PNP with job offer, you can get a work support letter once nominated to apply for a closed work permit.
