Expired PR Card - Effect on Employment

Dear All

If a person has an expired PR Card and has applied for renewal and is waiting, how does this affect him in finding a job in Canada.
In theory a PR Card is required only for travel and not to live in Canada.
Is it not sufficient to show the Landing Record and SIN Card and the expired PR card as evidence that you are legally allowed to work in Canada.
I have heard that most employers ask for this as a proof that you are legally permitted to work in Canada.
Has anybody got experience with how they have faced the employment situation with an expired card. Do employers simply drop you out because you do not have a valid PR Card.
Please share your experience.
Thanks.

It has no effect on employment. It is essentially a travel document. Your COPR and SIN number are sufficient for employment purposes. Unless the government takes steps to revoke your status, you're a PR with or without your card.

PR card is a travel document only. My PR is expired from July 2012 and expired PR is no issue to my job.

The most important thing is that you have the SIN. The first nunber tells much about you. If it begins with 5 or 9 and so on
