Expired Indian Passports

Hi..
Not sure if anyone has gone thru this same experience. Our Indian Passports have expired. We are waiting on our Canadian passports to come soon.

Since the Indian passports have expired, and not essentially valid to travel, do you need to surrender your Indian passport. If you want to travel to India with a visitors visa for India or applying for OCI?

You need to surrender it to apply for OCI. You can travel with Canadian passport and visitor visa, without surrendering indian passport. However, you have to pay penalty for delayed surrender, if and when you try to do it in future.
