Hi,
I have completed my Masters degree in Chemistry in India..
After which I have around 8 yrs of work experience in Pharma industry.
I am planning to take up 2 yr study program in Canada which will make me eligible to find work.
Diploma & Adv diploma programs match 100% with my previous edu & work experience. But unfortunately its a diploma. Not sure, how the visa officer is going to treat my case considering the fact that I am opting for a adv dip program after my Masters..
Since I am not a research oriented person, Phd is not an option for me.
Hence I thought of picking up a program that is related to my previous study and work exp. to a lesser extent. Like for example, Masters in biotech or MS in science related field which will have some subjects related to my previous education & work exp..
Considering the above situation , I have 2 questions..
1) After starting my 2 year MS program..if I find difficulty in studying the program.. then could I switch to another 1 yr program to same or different uni or college..Or is it mandatory that since my visa is issued to a 2 yr program of study..I should be taking a 2 yr program. In that case.. can I take 2 different diploma programs, of 1 year each immediately one after another.. from same or different uni..Is this possible ??
If I would be changing the program, how much tuition money am I going to loose ?? One semester or all semesters ??
2) Lets say. I take up 2 yr Masters program in Biotech. And I find no difficulty in pursuing my program. Now after completion of my program I would definitely want to work in the same field where I have 8 + years of work experience. After completion of my program in Canada, if I apply for a job that requires experience in the field I possess then, will the employer reject my application since my MS degree in Canada will not be in Biotech & not totally related to my previous work exp. Or will they give more importance and weightage to my previous work experience. I understand it is difficult to predict at this point but opinion will matter a lot. I really don't wish to wipe out my entire work experience for a degree..

Thanks..
