I need advice on the probability of getting visitor visa for the following case:

1. Male single age 30, owns business in Pakistan, has property in his name and a good bank balance. Does not have travel history except visa of Dubai and Singapore in past 10 years. Has letters to prove his ties to Pakistan.
2. Lady age 65 - Retired school teacher who is now on pension.

The person inviting them is a very close family friend but no blood relation with the mother and son above. Visitor visa is being done by an immigration consultant in Toronto.

My questions is are the chances good if the letter from family friend is written to mother or to son. Also the son is engaged to a girl in Toronto, should she get involved in this whole process or not show herself in the application.

Thank you.

The trend on the forums seems to be 'owns business' visa applicants get refused compared to 'employed' applicants. You can give up your business, sell it, have someone run it for you etc while hanging out in Canada. If you are employed you have an incentive to go back home as you are likely going to lose your job if you don't show up after your leave period. If you have a family then its an even bigger incentive because if you lose your job they may end up homeless and hungry. What letters are these you refer to? CIC need documentary proof in original format e.g bank statements, tax records, business registration, home ownership etc. Someone writing that you have strong ties is meaningless. You won't know till you apply but 2 'non' working adults with on paper no/little incentive to go home isn't good odds. How much is the total visit going to cost in Canadian/US currency and how much is their tax declared income. The ratio better be significantly in their favour else its just another red flag.
