Ok so I claimed > 3 years of experience based on 4 years (as graduate students working 20 hours/week [not full-time) + 2.5 years postgraduate work experience (full time work). Anyway, it's turning out that I won't be able to get an experience letter from my current employer (with whom I've worked for 1.5 years). I've thought about it every way possible and there's simply nobody I trust enough at work to ask for an experience letter for Canadian immigration. My question is, to what degree would it harm my application if I did not provide an experience letter for my current position? Even without it, I'd still be able to prove I have the 3-year minimum work experience, using experience letters from jobs prior to my current one.
I was also wondering whether there are combinations of alternative documentation that, collectively, might be deemed equivalent to an experience letter, e.g.: paystubs + research publications with name & job affiliation + offer letter of employment (signed by department chair and dean of faculty) + .... ?
Thanks folks.
