Dear Experts,

My wife is a primary applicant and a M.tech by education. After working for 2 years in tech role, she decided to move to HR functions and currently working in HR function(s) in the same company- Exp in this role is more than 2 years. Total 4+

Her primary NOC in the profile is based on this HR role.

Since she is M.tech not a MBA, her designation in the system IT Analyst, but role tagging describes her HR function.

I am worried about the fact that in experience letter when designation will appear as IT analyst and roles & responsibilities as that of HR (for period of last 2 years), will that create issues in approval? In the experience letter we will also mention & describe the roles for the period when she was working in tech role.

Any past experience or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

KR,
Abhinav

I've been told that holding a different position not related to your qualification may not necessarily be an issue as they would understand the same in the case of an unqualified person for a specific role but has a ton of experience in that field (NOC). Although one would expect the job title to be related to that of the function and it would be better if it matched in your case. however you could explain the same way you explained here in the LOE and since the job description and the NOC job description would match, I don't see a reason for them to not understand it.

But seeing that your wife does have 2 years of job exp under the technical NOC, why not apply with that as the Primary NOC ? you're going to be mentioning both job roles regardless, but just to be safe and keep it clean you could keep the technical NOC as primary and apply IMO.

hello Viki,

Thanks for your reply. The only reason we put HR as a Primary NOC is that she is currently working in that role. She will be getting a single Exp letter mentioning the Periods and corresponding roles. Since HR will be the current one, we thought of going with HR.

I dont think that should be a problem. but even if you were to select the technical job as your Primary NOC it wouldn't be invalid. as the whole question there is what is the NOC that you are basing your application at. it would be cleaner to use the technical one as the job title, duties and NOC would all be synchronous as compared to the HR role.

Once again - this is just my opinion.
