Hi...

I have a query regarding the calculation of work hours. I have completed my study at the end of August 2017. I got my transcript on 16th Sept. 2017. I got my Post-grad work permit on 11th Oct. 2017.

Now, I got a Full-Time job in my field from 15th July 2017 on Campus. I am still continuing my work same place, same position. Will my one-year work experience finish on 15th July 2018, 31st August 2018, 16th Sept. 2018, or 10th Oct. 2018? I have an only one-year work permit, So, need to find the best solution.

Thank you.

Your valid work experience starts from the day when you applied for your PGWP.
Hey Del,

Thanks for your valuable input!

Could you please share the relevant link? I have applied for mine via a consultant who insisted that the one year experience counts from the time I received my work-permit.

FYI - I graduated on August 15th, 2017, applied for my permit on September 05th, 2017, received the work permit on November 03rd, 2017.

I started working full time as soon as I applied for the work permit.

Appreciate your help! Cheers!

Unfortunately I do not have it bookmarked and I don't have the time to look for it. That being said, this information is 100% stated on the IRCC website. I have helped plenty of people obtain their PR by having them claim their work experience from the date they applied for their PGWP.

If your consultant doesn't know something so basic you probably shouldn't be working with him/her.
