Hi there, so I am really hoping for someone with experience on this. I know you are allowed to visit up to 6 months (Pending your circumstances correct!?)
I've been visitng Canada for over the past year on trips of 1 to 2 weeeks etc.. Always told the truth to the Customs officer & I will always want too as I do not want to put anything in jepordy whatsoever.
To the people that have gone down the Conjugal sponsorship program & anyone else who can help please, what is and how is the best way to put it across when entering Canada for that amout of time, as I will also want to see if I can get implied status after obviously to rack up the one year! (Marriage will be later down the line incase anyone is wondering)
I know you have to fill out the declaration card on the airplane for amount of days staying to pass to Customs, but I've heard & read they dont like this if you put that amount of days down!?? ....which of course lead me to read stories of just put down a few months then change your plane ticket, etc. I mean do they trully see your circumstances of having a fiance & would this be in my favour?
I also know they have to see ties back to your home country (UK)
I just want to know, do I say I'm visiting for 6 months then I will apply for an extension, afterall this is the way the Government sets this program critera out right.
I just want to do this truthfully & correct without the confusion, your past experience's on this will go along way..thanks in advance.
