Hi everyone!

Just want to know how long does it take for us to wait for our visa after the medical completion.
I have 4 kids and my husband is in Canada with still an open visa. We have completed our medical requirements last Sept. 23, 2008 and up to now as per e-cas,my application status is still in process. It has been this way since 2 months ago. My husband's status is "decision has been made".

Our application was sent to Manila office since April last year. I had the chance to talk personally to one of the visa officers last April 2, and told me that we have to wait till my husband gets his landing papers before we get ours here in the Phillipines.

Just wonderin' why ours take longer than the other applicants? Is it because we have 4 kids and others have just 1 , 2 or 3? I'm already planning to send them an e-mail to ask their office what should we do to help them expedite the process, 'coz it's really hard to just wait without any idea what's goin on with our application.

I hope Leon can say something about this,or is there anyone who can help me figure this out? Right now, I just trust God, expect that my family will be reunited in Canada soon and be happy!

God bless everyone...

The number of kids has nothing to do with it, as you were told, once your spouse is issued his visa, then you will be issued yours. He will still have to "land" first or at the same time as you.

Thanks PMM for the reply! That was fast! I appreaciate it.

Would you know how long would I will still be waiting, 'coz in the e-cas, 80% of the cases are approved within 6-7 months? It's been 6 months now since they have received our medical rqt's, but still we haven't heard from them yet. In my calculation, my husband should have already received a letter from the embassy regarding his PR confirmation, appearance shedule at the embassy in Canada, etc. It's really hard to just wonder why it isn't happenning yet...

If anyone can give me some clarifications, then I would be glad to hear that...

I choose to be optimistic and hoping that my family will be reunited in Canada VERY SOON.

God bless everyone!

Did you or your spouse get a letter of Acknowledgment from the visa office? How long did you get it after your application been sent to visa office?

I hope you will be able to reunite with your family soon. For me, I trust my application and what my wife and i have done to be together again. God did not play any role in filling out my application.

Hi PMM! I am very grateful to have found this forum. Moreso that you give valuable infos to our inquiries. For our case, God has been favorable. My husband has just received a letter for the embassy for landing fee payment.

After paying for our landing fee, how long would our visa be released then? Your reply would be highly appreciated!

Thanks!

BTW, how come you know a lot of things about immigration issues? Do you work for Canadian embassy?
