Expected Duration of Employment

Hi guys,

I am a Hong Kong citizen applied for the open work permit outside of Canada. In the application form IMM1295e, I have filled in my “Expected Duration of Employment” to be June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2027. However, I have an opportunity to start working asap now. As my work permit have initially approved, may I know would I only be allowed to start working after June 1? Or once I got to Canada for my final examination, then I can get my work permit effective?

You can start working once you get your work permit approved.
oh. almost forgot, you need to get you SIN (Social Insurance Number) after you arrived and provide that to your employer.
