Hi

I am on a close WP and resigned from my current JOB with which my closed WP is tied to. Although my Closed WP is valid till Oct 2013, I have valid Visa as well till Oct 2013. I am planning a trip to India in June.My questions are:-
1) Can I leave Canada and come back in this case as I have no JOB here and I am on Close WP?
2) Can I apply for BOWP ahead of 4 months period?
3) Does my ex employer updates the CIC and cancel the WP? IS it the process in case any Closed WP guy resigns from Canada(inside)?

Regards

1. It will be difficult since you will be asked about the purpose both at Indian immigration as well as Canadian immigration. Not disclosing to either of them will be a very bad idea. You will even put you pr application at risk.
2. I don't think you can apply prior to 4 months.
3. It is not the process. I will be very surprised if any company can cancel an already issued work permit.

Dont leave Canada as long as you find the new employer or new job or BOWP application sucess

2) Can I apply for BOWP ahead of 4 months period? As per BOWP application eligibilty, you should not apply
3) Does my ex employer updates the CIC and cancel the WP? IS it the process in case any Closed WP guy resigns from Canada(inside)?

Not recommended, there's a possibility you could be refused re-entry.

2) Can I apply for BOWP ahead of 4 months period?
Officially, no, the rules are that your current work permit must be expiring within 4 months. Unofficially, others on this site have reported success in the same situation.

3) Does my ex employer updates the CIC and cancel the WP?
Your former employer cannot cancel your WP. It is issued to you, not your employer.

I am on closed work permit. Left Canad and got in without any issues. No one in immigration knows if you are still working or not

Yeah, but do not take the risk!
It is not worth it for you to arrive back to Canada and be denied entry and then crying over what you read here about your smooth sailing back into this country!

Also I don't understand why everybody is saying I could be refused a re-entry in Canada?

I have a valid VISA to enter and have valid closed WP. If i left my employer then I cannot work for any other employer but I have a legal status of being in Canada as my PR application is in process.

Do you guys agree with my thoughts?

That's correct. You have a legal status in Canada until your WP is over. You can also claim EI for the time you don't work. There SHOULD be no legal reason to refuse your entry as long as you don't pose any security/criminal/health risk to Canada and didn't violate any immigration laws (including lying to immigration officer on your entry about your current job status).
However, officer MAY think you PLAN to overstay your visa and that there are not enough ties in your home country to make you go back and on this grounds he still can refuse your entry. Do you want to take those chances?
