Excluding common-law partner from the applciation

Hi Everyone,

Need an advice on how&when to exclude my ex from the application.

I am the principal applicant and I had my common-law partner included in the application. Her and I are not together anymore. I understand I should write CIC a letter saying that my marital status has been changed and asking to exclude my common-law from the application. However, I am thinking to wait for the AOR first. I just don't want CIC to tell me to re-apply since my marital status has changed and AOR has not been yet issued.

My application was received by CIC on Sep 26, and the bank draft was encashed on Dec 16

Any suggestions guys?

Your draft has been en cashed then you should be receiving your AOR soon. Better wait for AOR and then update CIC about any chagne because without a file number CIC won't be making any change in your application or won't be paying any heed to your request. After AOR, you will have ample of time to update CIC about your status.
