Even if you have less than 2 years experience, you can get a G2 license which is almost as good as a full license. You can drive alone but must keep a 0% alcohol level.

Yes, if it is still valid at the time you want to swap.

You should have no problem getting your ontario license. Just visit a DriveTest center and make sure you have several forms of ID with you.

I exchanged my IL license for an Ontario license last year. In order to get a full (G1) license I needed to show a minimum number of years experience (two years, I believe). They call it a "reciprocal license exchange". My IL license had expired before I renewed it, so I had to write the DMV to get a driving abstract to prove when it was originally issued.
